From 17 October to 15 November 2026 – The 29th edition in Umbria
Umbria welcomes the new olive oil season with five weekends of experiences among working olive mills, charming villages, art cities and breathtaking olive-growing landscapes.
As every year, the programme brings together authentic experiences at production sites, cultural itineraries, outdoor activities, tastings, artistic events and initiatives celebrating the region’s landscape heritage. New highlights this year include the Evo&Art Experiences; tours exploring the sub-areas of the Umbria PDO dedicated to the 800th anniversary of St Francis of Assisi; the Moto Giro dei Frantoi Aperti (Open Olive Mills Motorcycle Tour); the Frantoi Aperti Trail Run; and La Grande Pedalata Lungo la Fascia Olivata (The Great Bike Ride Along the Olive Belt).
Frantoi Aperti is an event celebrating the culture of extra virgin olive oil and the land that produces it. Originally created to open the doors of olive mills to the public, it transforms the olive-pressing season into an experience to be enjoyed firsthand: an opportunity to meet the people who produce the oil, discover the techniques and knowledge passed down through generations, and appreciate extra virgin olive oil not merely as a product, but as a defining part of Umbria’s cultural identity.
