In Spoleto, from 16 October to 20 November, Spoleto Jazz takes place, a festival dedicated to contemporary jazz, hosted at the Teatro Nuovo G. C. Menotti and the Teatro Caio Melisso.
The seventh edition features a programme exploring different expressions of international jazz, with artists from the European and American music scenes. The tagline “Jazz! Is a Love Supreme” pays tribute to John Coltrane’s legacy and highlights improvisation as a space for musical listening and dialogue.
The programme opens on 16 October at the Teatro Nuovo with Judith Hill, an American singer and multi-instrumentalist whose music spans jazz, soul and R&B. On 6 November, the Teatro Caio Melisso hosts Zsigmond Gerlóczy at 9 pm and the Daniel García Trio at 10 pm, in an evening dedicated to European jazz piano. On 20 November, also at the Teatro Caio Melisso, the festival concludes with Emma Smith and her quartet, bringing together jazz vocals and swing.
