From 30 October to 1 November 2026, Città della Pieve will host Zafferiamo, a festival celebrating saffron and its long-standing tradition in the local area. The event transforms the historic town centre into a journey of aromas, flavours and artistic inspiration, welcoming visitors of all ages with activities dedicated to the world of this precious spice.
The programme ranges from food and gastronomy, with tastings and culinary creations that highlight saffron’s distinctive flavour and aroma, to art, with exhibitions and displays inspired by or created using the flowers and colours of “Città della Pieve saffron”. Visitors can also enjoy hands-on experiences, including workshops and practical activities exploring the secrets of saffron cultivation and the many ways this spice can be used. Entertainment and opportunities to come together and share experiences complete the festival programme.
