In the heart of Perugia, inside the ancient church of San Francesco delle Donne, the Museum Atelier Giuditta Brozzetti preserves one of Umbria’s most fascinating craft traditions: hand weaving.
Founded in 1921 by Giuditta Brozzetti to revive the historic “Perugian tablecloth” tradition, the atelier is today one of the very few workshops in Italy where textiles are still produced on original eighteenth- and nineteenth-century looms.
During the visit, guests can discover the history of Umbrian weaving, see the looms in action and watch a live demonstration of the craft that has been passed down through four generations of women.
A unique experience to step into the world of Italian craftsmanship and discover a place where history, art and tradition are still woven together every day.
